Meet Homework, a fictional non-profit organization with a noble mission: providing individuals in need with access to technology through hardware and software donations. In order to achieve this, Homework relies on the generosity of people who contribute both tangible goods and monetary support. Our challenge was to create a landing page that effectively communicates the value of the Homework brand and design a seamless donation experience for users, whether on desktop or mobile devices.

Problem Space

Even though online donations have seen a 20% growth since 2020, nonprofits are still losing out on potential contributions. Why? Well, for starters, the donation process can be quite complex, leaving users tangled in a web of confusion. Plus, donors are left in the dark about where their hard-earned money goes. It's like a bad blind date with your wallet. So, our design challenge was simple yet crucial.

Crafting an Engaging Donation Experience

Our dedicated team of UX designers collaborated to develop a solution that would enhance the donation experience for potential contributors. We concentrated on designing an intuitive and engaging landing page that captures the essence of the Homework brand and sets the stage for a seamless donation journey. Using mid-fidelity wireframes, we created a user-friendly donation flow optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring that no donor would be left struggling to navigate a complex process. This way, users can feel confident in their contributions and stay connected to the impact they're making.

Next Steps and Key Learnings

As we continue refining our design, the next steps include conducting a second round of usability testing to gather more insights and further improve the user experience. We'll also work on creating high-fidelity wireframes, which will bring our design to life with more detail and visual appeal. In addition, we'll focus on enhancing the prototype and establishing a strong brand identity for Homework, ensuring a consistent and engaging presence across all touchpoints.

Throughout this project, our team has learned the importance of an iterative design process, user testing, and collaboration. By focusing on real-world problems, even in a conceptual project, we can develop innovative solutions with the potential to inspire change and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
